Women and the Green Economy – Panel and Workshop, Sydney

EarthDayBanner

President of the global Earth Day Network Kathleen Rogers is in Sydney to spread the movement’s inspiring work which includes the ‘Billion Acts of Green‘ and ‘Women and the Green Economy‘ campaigns.

Future Journeys are are taking this opportunity to organise a lunchtime workshop to inspire a dialogue around how to support women’s role in the emerging green economy. They have put together a wonderful guest panel including;

  • Kathleen Rogers – President of Earth Day Network
  • Janine Cahill – CEO of Future Journeys
  • Ann Austin – Head of Sustainability – Lend Lease
  • Yolanda Vega – Australian Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • TBC – The 1 Million Women campaign
  • Sally Hill – panel facilitator, fellow at the Center for Sustainability Leadership
Research from NSW Department of Climate Change and Water conducted last year showed that men have more knowledge about climate change, but women are more likely to take action. So is it possible to approach the climate challenge with our business and family hats on – identifying wealth opportunities in the marketplace – as well as caring for the planet for future generations?

How do we best embrace this opportunity for women? How do we develop new creative and collaborative approaches?
